Neck Pain, Headaches, and Posture

If you struggle with neck pain or Forward Head Posture (AKA Anterior Head Carriage), Dr. Rehl focuses on improving spinal alignment, motion, and mechanics in the neck and back. He uses precise chiropractic adjustments, physiotherapy, and targeted soft-tissue work, along with specific Corrective Structure exercises.

Many tension-type headaches and migraines are linked to the neck; improving cervical and upper-thoracic function may reduce frequency and intensity. Diet and other lifestyle factors are also considered to support long-term relief.

Low Back Pain, Disc Injuries, and Sciatica

Low back pain often comes from several factors, such as joint restriction, muscle strain, alignment issues, or disc problems. Chiropractic care includes adjustments, soft-tissue therapies, exercises, and Cold LASER as needed.

Spinal discs act like jelly-filled doughnuts: the nucleus pulposus (the “jelly”) absorbs pressure like a shock absorber, while the annulus fibrosus (the outer ring) holds vertebrae together. When the annulus tears, a disc injury can occur, sometimes causing pain or dysfunction. Contributors include injuries, obesity, poor posture, ergonomics, and diet.

To support healing, Dr. Rehl uses chiropractic adjusting, soft-tissue care, Cold LASER, rehabilitation exercises, and Corrective Structure education. Ergonomic guidance, dietary recommendations, and high-quality supplements may also be included to minimize spinal stress and improve function. Sciatica—pain traveling from the lower back down the leg—often responds to conservative care. Adjustments and soft-tissue therapies can help calm irritation from disc issues, bone spurs, or spinal stenosis. Cold LASER therapy may be added to reduce pain and inflammation when appropriate.

Man with tmj pain

TMJ/TMD and Jaw Pain

Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) can result from arthritis, clenching or grinding, genetics, or jaw displacement from chronic strain or acute injury. Symptoms may include pain with opening or closing, jaw clicking or locking, and difficulty chewing or speaking.

Dr. Rehl uses a conservative, non-invasive approach and co-manages with Bay Area myofascial, dental, and specialist chiropractic providers when needed.

Muscle Weakness and Sports Injuries

Muscle weakness may be observed during your exam, noted in your history, or identified with muscle testing. Dr. Rehl evaluates what is affecting the nerves and how biomechanics are functioning. Orthopedic and neurologic testing, Applied Kinesiology, and imaging help guide care.

Adjusting the spine and extremities often improves joint motion, reduces nerve irritation, and helps muscles fire properly. A care plan may include adjustments, myofascial release, soft-tissue therapy, diet changes, Cold LASER, and nutritional supplementation.

For sports injuries, Dr. Rehl draws from a wide range of techniques to help you heal, strengthen, and return to activity. Techniques may include IASTM, Applied Kinesiology-based soft-tissue work, PNF, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, sports taping, ultrasound, and Corrective Structure exercises.
